The Importance of Sleep for building muscle

Do you get enough sleep? Fitness Instructor Russ Howe discusses how most bodybuilders and fitness enthusiasts neglect the overall importance of sleep towards muscle growth and in this video, shows why not getting enough sleep can hinder your results in the gym both mental and physical.

View Russ’ post here: http://russhowepti.com/2011/06/28/gaining-quality-muscle-the-importance-of-sleep/

The recommended daily amount of sleep is 8 hours. Many of us barely manage that, but if you’re also training hard and dieting the importance of that recommended daily amount of sleep is far more than just a regular person. Your muscle growth occurs during sleep, not just that, but it begins when you’re in a deep state of sleep. So catching just a couple of hours per night is simply not enough time to let your body get it’s job done before you wake up and repeat it all over again.
