KFW | Nourish mind body & spirit HERBS Unlimited | Part 2 | 763.503.7958 | Minnetonka MN
http://www.herbsunlimited.info/ Tina Rosenquist, creator and host of Knowledge For Wellness, interviews Marilyn Nightingale, a Certified Natural Health Professional and owner of HERBS Unlimited. The following was discussed during the show.
What Are Herbs?
Herbs are excellent plant sources of foods loaded with nutrients (vitamins, minerals, enzymes, & more) which our body can use to achieve and maintain good health. Herbs also nourish, regulate, cleanse, and help the body heal itself. Herbs are powerful natural foods.
Do Herbs Cure?
No. They nourish. If the body has the ability to heal, it will use the raw materials found in foods to do its own healing work. Herbs do not heal, they feed. Herbs do not force the body to maintain and repair itself. They simply support the body in these natural functions.
Are There Certain Herbs For Certain Diseases?
Herbs do not address disease. Herbs have been chosen – over thousands of years of history – to feed different parts of body. For instance, you might eat carrots for good eyesight and broccoli for immune supporting antioxidants. Are carrots and broccoli cures for glaucoma and cancer? No! but, wouldn’t you consume these nourishing herbal foods “at times of” these afflictions? History’s answer is yes! Thus we get “Historical uses.”
Why Do Some Herbs Work and Others Do Not?
Herbs always work, they work because they are only feeding the body. Have you ever heard of carrots not working? It’s not that the herb didn’t work…it’s that your body didn”t need those materials to do the healing work you expected. Also, some people have poor digestive systems and may not be asbsorbing the nutrients completely.
Is Natural Health A Replacement For Doctors and Hospitals?
No. Natural health is a way of living. It’s learning to form a lifestyle that supports and fosters health (i.e., fresh air, pure water, wholesome foods, exercise, good outlook, stress management, etc.) Joy of life is the foundation of natural health, not fear of death. Seek the health professional that helps you further your objective
Are Dietary Supplements An Important Part Of Natural Health?
Absolutely. The foods we have today are S.A.D. (Standard American Diet). Modern farming practices and food processing have rendered our food supply deficient and unbalanced. Our bodies take in too much of some things, not enough of others, and some things that should never be consumed. Wholesome food is hard to find. Dietary supplementation may help satisfy nutritional deficiencies, support natural body processes that cleanse undesirable substances from the body, and promote the endurance and longevity desired. “may you never know the disease you prevented with natural health.”

Edwin Low on Stress (Part 4: Why Do We Need to detox?)
http://www.ayurtox.com/index.htm?aff=y/156 When your body’s clogged with harmful toxins, you feel tired all the time, feel sick with all kinds of aches and flu and have a constant world-weariness that pulls out all the enthusiasm from your body. A detox program at this stage helps destroy all these harmful toxins and promotes good health. But there’s something that could obstruct your detox program from working. Do you know what it is? It’s stress!
You already know too much of stress causes a lot of damage to the body. But did you know stress could get in the way of all healing routines? When your mind feels tired and overburdened, how will your body work to fight off damaging foreign particles? Stress obstructs the working of your body’s natural immunity system and slows down development. Have you noticed, people who are overworked are almost always prone to all sorts of ailments and sicknesses?
Stress acts against the detox process too and doesn’t allow the body to fight against toxins. Overstressed people have poor digestive systems, low energy levels and feel nervous all the time. Any detox routine depends on the body’s ability to flush out toxins through excretion; when the digestive system’s poor, this becomes difficult. Stress also leads to an increase in toxicity because the stress-affected digestive system is not able to generate enough enzymes to aid digestion. As a result, toxins that are not controlled in the initial process of digestion are let loose in the body as free radicals that cause extensive damage.
In case you’re planning to detoxify your body, make sure you’re in an environment that’s free of stress or take conscious efforts to relieve your body of strain. This way, you may be sure of a healthy body as a result of your body detox program. Here are a few ways to unwind your body and reduce stress levels:
• Breathe right — This is the underlying principle of yoga. Breathing right could solve a lot of problems and free your mind. Inhale a lungful of air and let it out slowly. When you do this repeatedly, you’ll experience a calmness that makes your body and mind feel relaxed. You could also try meditating. This mental discipline takes your mind off factors causing stress and helps you relax.
• Taking a long, relaxing bath is an age-old stress relieving technique. Use some bathing salt or vinegar to lighten your mood further and to help in detox.
• Just a simple daily walk could free your mind from tension. Try any form of exercise to make your body healthy and keep your mind free. Regular exercises are also very important for detoxification.
• Sleep deprivation is one of the major causes for stress. Try to get at least 8 hours of sleep everyday. If you’re not able to sleep enough at night, take a mid day break and sleep for at least half an hour to free your mind from the tensions of the day. Enough rest time and sleep is very important to allow the body time for its natural healing process.
Just follow the above techniques to boost your mood and fight stress; now you can embark on your detox program for best results.

21 Ways to Build Vital Energy-Vitality Herbs & Clay
The #1 Secret to Youth, Longevity and Health
http://www.vitalityherbsandclay.com/teleconference-calls-and-events-list/21-ways-to-build-vital-energy.html
Vital Energy
Your “vital energy” is directly related to your overall constitutional strength. Your basic constitutional strength affects every aspect of your health, including immune response, mood, hormone balance, muscle strength, endurance, back & bone health, allergic response, heart & lung health, etc.
Your vital energy (also referred to as “jing” in Chinese Traditional Medicine, TCM) is stored and delivered by 3 major systems of human physiology – the neural system of the heart, the endocrine (hormonal) system with an emphasis on the adrenals, and the renal system (kidneys). (This definition is my own take on this matter, not strictly TCM.)
Vital energy is more subtle, and more influential on overall health, than the chi. Vital energy is essential to life itself. To the degree that vital energy leaves the body, the body slowly dies. To the degree that vital energy increases in the body, the body thrives.
