Atheists: Would you consider the possibility of a god like I had due to my hypothesis below (below)?
I used to be an atheist, but just recently I decided that there is probably a god(s). Let me explain and then I’d love to hear your input on the matter.
First, do you think that this universe is the only one in existence or are there others? If you think it is the only one then I ask you, why would it be the only universe? (analogous to "why would the life on Earth be the only life in existence in the vastness of the universe?"). I guess that what I’m saying is, wouldn’t it be kind of odd that our very limited universe is the only thing in existence? If our universe can exist (which obviously it can), then shouldn’t other universes be able to exist too just like life other than that on Earth probably exists elsewhere in the unvierse? I think so.
These other universes may be independent of ours, but believing that there are other universes leads me to believe that perhaps another universe created ours (this would be the same thing as if we invented a supercomputer with the capacity to create a world that could evolve beings capable of questioning their own existence/origin as we have). If this is so, then whoever or whatever created our universe in that other universe would be "god". I would guess that the "god" in the other universe simply defined the properties of our universe and then allowed it to proceed on its own (starting at the Big Bang (or some other beginning) through evolution by natural selection — simply changing through time due to the universe’s defined laws).
Personally, because I am a hard determinist (I believe in absolute fate and believe that we do not have free will) it seems to me that my aims in life ought not to be selfish, but ought to be to promote the objective of this universe. If some "god" in another universe created this one then why did he create this universe? By putting myself in "god’s" shoes I can guess that this "god" most likely wanted this universe to accomplish some great feat. I know that I have evolved by means of natural selection to want to live and do great things because only those who want to live and strive to be great do so and manage to live and reproduce, thus continuing the characteristics of wanting to exist. Nevertheless, I still think that seeing the universe as a whole as a creation with an objective of the accomplishing as much as possible then it allows us to put aside our individual emotions, desires, and selfish "wants" in order to help promote the overall prosperity of the universe. Looking at the universe like this also promotes pacifism, peace, and reduces stress and tension between individuals because it shows us that what matters is not what an individual accomplishes in his life time, but what the universe accomplishes. There is obviously a great deal of violence in the world, which I would say is largely due to lack of education and understanding of this universe. If everybody learned to see the physical universe as it truly is, perhaps we could avoid this and learn to work together.
Some of you who disagree with what I said above might ask, "If some god in another universe created this one, then who created that god’s universe?"
I answer that I believe that it makes much more sense that absolutely everything exists (everything in this universe as well as everything that we can imagine that’s not in this universe, as well as everything that we can’t imagine) rather than believing that only this universe exists. Perhaps there is an Everything World (EW) (as I’ll call it) that contains all other universes including our own. Perhaps in the EW created some worlds which in turn created more universes which in turn created more, etc, until our universe was created, then perhaps we will be able to one day create a universe that is complex enough to evolve conscious beings that can perceive their own existence and question whether or not there is a "god" in which case the answer would be yes, we would be the gods.
I’ll stop writing for now, but if you have any questions about what I have said, put them in your answers and I will try to reply by means of the "add details" feature so that you can check back and see what else I said below my question so that you can proceed to add to your answer. Thanks.
SHORTENED VERSION OF ABOVE:
-This universe is strangely limited, perhaps there are other universes
-Perhaps one of these other universes created our universe
-If so, whoever/whatever in that other universe created our universe would be "god"
-This would lead us to change our goals in life to suit the objective of this universe that the "god" had in mind when he created this universe
You are doing the same thing that all religious people do. You are imagining the god that suits your own thinking.
There is no empirical evidence that god or other universes exist.
how to improve sleep quality and life?
I’ve been sleeping badly for the 3 month and this has effected my studies and thoughts about life. I always see everything negatively and have bad relationship with my whole family. We rarely talk to each other and i find them very annoying imo
I’ve tried taking sleeping pills, eating healthy foods, exercising and doctors eg.pyschologist and they have barely helped me out.I don’t know what to do, this is really affecting my lifestyle and i lack energy to do the things i want to do.
12 WAYS TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF YOUR SLEEP
1. Avoid too much of a good thing. As inviting as your Sleep NumberĀ® bed might be, excessively long periods spent in bed lead to fragmented and shallow sleep.
2. Sleep on a schedule. A regular bed time and wake up time will strengthen your internal clock and helps establish consistent, regular times of sleep onset. Follow a nighttime routine—same time, same order! Such a routine cues your body that it’s bedtime.
3. Exercise regularly. Studies indicate that regular, daily exercise deepens sleep. Occasional exercise does not necessarily improve the sleep the following night. Don’t exercise right before bedtime.
4. Moderate the temperature. Excessively warm rooms (above 75 degrees) disturb sleep (less REM Delta sleep, more awakenings). However, excessively cold rooms do not solidify sleep. 65-70 degrees is considered ideal.
5. Eat right. Hunger tends to disturb sleep. Therefore, a light snack before bed tends to help sleep. Heavy meals right before bedtime tend to interfere with sleep.
6. Avoid excessive use of sleeping medications. An occasional sleeping pill may help now and then; however, chronic use may promote dependency that can exacerbate sleeping difficulties.
7. Limit caffeine intake. Caffeine in the evening disturbs sleep—even in those who feel it does not! (Cola, chocolate, coffee, tea, etc.)
8. Limit alcohol intake. While alcohol may help people fall asleep more easily, the ensuing sleep is disrupted when its effects wear off.
9. Never go to bed angry. Taking work or worry to bed is a sure way to lose sleep. Make time to clear your mind before you get under the covers.
10. Mask excessive, occasional loud noises. Homes near airports, trains or highways can experience loud noises that disturb sleep even in people who are not awakened by noises, and cannot remember them in the morning. Sound insulation or even just turning on a fan can help.
11. Chronic use of tobacco disturbs sleep.
12. Sleep in Comfort. Choose a bed that contours to your unique body, encourages more proper spinal support, provides dual comfort zones and reduces pressure points.
Is there any other countries that offer a better quality of life?
We have 5 children & good work history but no degrees. We are looking to relocate, but things just seem to be going poorly for everyone in the states. Is there any other countries that would suit a family of seven & offer a better cost of living & quality of life? Or even just a state better than Utah. Less religion, better air, BETTER SCHOOLS, better paying jobs & cheaper homes? Any insight would be fantastic!

Name for Mind – Body – Spirit. All encompassing.?
I can not find a name, when said, means the Mind – Body – Spirit of a person or animal. I would want it to work like this: "Her name is Ava. Her ____ is pretty intact." This ___ to be the word meaning her mind, a body, and spirit are not heading south as is say, a bi-polar person. Also could be: "Aron’s ____ seams to be weakening."
If the word isn’t English, that is fine. If there isn’t such a word, I’ll get over it. But if there is, it would be nice to know. Yeah, it’s a weird question, but Google hasn’t been of much help on this one.
I flew to the dictionary when Miss Marvelous mentioned Chakra. It does mention mind, body and spirit. Oh, sooo clooose.
Chakras – Energy centers throughout the body responsible for the condition of your mind, body and spirit.
If this word is to be found, it will probably come from India, aka Chakra, or somewhere in the Orient.
Faquarl may be right with the capital S in Self, though.

edit: Nephesh: which literally means the "complete life of a being" though it is usually used in the sense of "living being" (breathing creature)
Nephesh is applied to humans, lower animals, corpses and to God Almighty.

Kaula: Another meaning sometimes given to the term kaula is that of a "group of people" engaged together in the practice of spiritual discipline.
what is the difference between a Certified Massage Therapist and a license Massage Therapist?
When I get my diploma from a Massage Therapy school does that mean am a Certified Massage Therapist and I can start working?
It simply depends on your state whether or not you’re called "licensed" or "certified".
It also depends on your state as to how you can practice once you’re done with school. Most states require you to take the NCBTMB and then apply for a state license. (In VA, you have 500hrs of school, take the test and then apply through the board of nursing for your license.) However, you may be able to practice for 90 days without a license after school…but make sure you have insurance!
