    i think it does
people who get enough sleep are awake throughout the day
people who dont lack energy and feel like nothing

    Yes.
Affects mood, tolerance to stress, appetite, hormones, judgement, cell repair, reaction time when driving.
8 hours of undisturbed sounds like quality to me lol.

You need to be getting enough sleep so that you can have a decent amount of energy during the day.
If you aren’t getting enough sleep it will definitely effect your life and daily well being.

Quality is to be pass REM in which your body is at total "rest."
You wake up feeling refreshed and not like you were beat up with this ache here and soreness there. Kinks in the neck which do not seem to go away.
A good nites sleep makes one feel like their energy sources have been replenished and they can tackle the situations of the day.
Insufficent rest leaves a person feeling tired and run down before the day is even over. At lunch time they are needing a nap to make it thought the rest of the day. Insufficent rest can make one feel irritable and grouchy.

there are 5 different stages of sleep, the last being the REM stage. You can be in any of stages 1 through 4 and be asleep, but not be getting "quality" sleep, like you get when in REM. Being in REM is the only stage where you can be rejuvenated. Ever woken up from a normal nights sleep and felt exhausted? It is probably because you did not spend enough time in REM, your consciousness was bouncing in and out of that 5th stage and spending most of the time in stages 1-4 (stages 3 and 4 are considered "deep sleep" but are not really "quality") When going to bed at night, it usually takes about 1-2 hours to enter REM for the first time. When taking a short nap, it can take a much shorter time or even be entered right away (your body knows time is limited)
So, this being considered, sleep has a great deal to do with a person’s life and overall well-being! :o )
