Why? Note that I didn’t say "Good"  — but "attractive."  Does he possess an energy (a "wicked vitality" in the words of one critic) that makes him seem sort of interesting?

edit: I see how the critic found a "wicked vitality". I’m a fantasy-freak so I can’t help but connect the duke with a vampire. Sort of kingly and commanding with what I imagine would be secrecy. Some people fall for the dark and mysterious type…? That’s all I can come up with. Good luck
