What I was saying, was that the one of the ways Romans won their battles was there through their technology. If you studied Roman History or took a military history course, which I bet you have taken neither; then you would know that one of the ways Romans were millitary superior to other nations was through millitary technology. Thats why I made that comparison between the US millitary and the Roman millitary. If you new anything about history then you would know this. Enlighten yourself.

Also, US troops are the best in the world, compare average infantrymen from china, usa, france, germany, whatever… average infantry gold medal goes to america. So yes, they could win without the tech. They are trained to win without it. In fact, a soldier must demonstrate proficiency in arms without sights or anything, only using the iron sights on the gun itself, before thery use optics. The us army would still be winning in iraq n afganistan without tech, but more would die. More casualties

The mission he is referring to was assigned by commanders who KNEW that their troops had tech, they wouldnt assign the mission unless their troops had it.

@bigbluebee: It’s a mistake to just assume that because troops use technology, that they lack the capacity to work without it. I know speaking as an Army NCO and former TRADOC instructor, while I appreciated the tech to help me do my job, I always stressed the ability to work without and that it’s the skills the soldier possess that count most.
